When a user logs in, they are redirected to the home page but receives this error message on the page "You are not authorised to view this resource" How do I prevent this?

The issue you were having, is resolved now. Please Check.
And this was because redirection of page after login wasn't selected. TO change the redirection go to Joomla Administrator > Menus > Login menu > Options. Set the settings you want. And it'll be resolved after this.
