I would like to migrate the shop from the development server to the production server. What is the process? Can I simply migrate the database / tables? Can I export the data and import it later on ?
An export option would be appreciated as it would also help take a backup and also for bulk changes.

Hello Sauk,
Just archive Files, and Export DB.
Extract those files, open configuration.php of Joomla and change tmp, log file path, and DB access details.
Create new DB on the new server and import the DB you have.
You are all set on the new server. it's quick and simple. No fuss.
